1st Feb 2018

The global community of plant scientists comes to Scandinavia this summer with back to back meetings in Copenhagen, Denmark and Turku, Finland.

- Plant Biology Europe 2018 #PBE2018

Copenhagen June 18th- 21st.

Deadline for abstract submission: March 27th

The PBE2018 conference takes place June 18th- 21st, 2018 in Copenhagen, Denmark and is jointly organized by the European plant science organisations EPSO and FESPB with the aim to create a European venue for the latest developments within plant biology research and technology. The conference is the biggest of its kind in Europe and the only one with a multidisciplinary approach to plant science in a global context. The plenary themes of PBE2018 are:

- Phenotyping on different scale

- Photosynthetic diversity/resource use efficiency

- New Breeding Technologies

- Seeds for the future

- Niche crops

- Plant Microbiome

- Natural Products

- Environmental resilience

- Genome evolution

- Science policy session focusing on ‘Open Science’

- International Conference on Arabidopsis Research 2018 #ICAR2018

Turku, Finland June 25th-29th

Deadline for abstract submission: March 31st.

It is a pleasure to invite you to participate in The International Conference on Arabidopsis Research (ICAR) which will be held on 25-29 June 2018 in Turku, Finland. The International Conference on Arabidopsis Research is a yearly conference rotating between North America, Australasia and Europe. The ICAR2016 was held in South Korea and is followed by ICAR2017 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The conference is centered on all aspects of modern plant biology using thale cress (Arabidopsis thaliana) as a model system. The conference regularly brings together over 800 scientists from all corners of the world for five days to discuss all aspects of molecular plant science from research on plant growth and development to improving plant tolerance to adverse environmental conditions.

ICAR has so far has not been organized in northern Europe. Thus, bringing ICAR2018 to Turku in Finland will be a premiere for the Nordic Countries.

The Plenary Sessions at ICAR2018 are:

- Shoot Growth and Development

- Root Growth ad Development

- Abiotic enviromental interactions

- Biotic enviromental interactions

- Metabolism and Nutrients

- Plant Hormones

- Epigenetic Regulation

- Signal Transduction

Concurrent sessions

- Organelle biology

- Biotic Interactions

- Systems Biology

- Evolution and Ecology

- Photobiology

- Genomes and Chromatin

- Abiotic Stress

- Reproduction

- Cell Biology

- Development

- Model to Crop

- Post-translation control

Both meetings have travel grants available for early career researchers so check them out

Go to Scandinavia for PBE and stay for ICAR!!
