ARABIDOPSIS RESEARCH ROUND-UPARABIDOPSIS RESEARCH ROUND-UP

14th May 2014

Juriaan Ton and his group from the University of Sheffield were featured in last week’s Arabidopsis Research Round-up, and here they are again with another paper, this time in Frontiers in Plant Science.

• Luna E, Lopez A, Kooiman J and Ton J. Role of NPR1 and KYP in long-lasting induced resistance for ß-aminobutyric acid. Frontiers in Plant Science, 8 May 2014. DOI: 10.3389/fpls.2014.00184. [Open Access]

In this paper, again looking at the immune priming role of ß-aminobutyric acid (BABA), the Ton lab describes how the regulatory protein NPR1 is required for long-lasting BABA-induced resistance for up to 28 days after treatment, and proposes a gene suppressing role for KYP.
